Glossary¶

article_id : The ID of the target article; serves to identify users in the experiments, as each user is presumed to be searching for a single article.

search spec : Holds the specifics of a single query session, such as which query string to use, whether to perform expansion, and which article is considered the target article. The value object experiments.types.SearchSpec holds this state.

target article : A priori known article that should be retrieved by an expanded search. A target article is a valid disambiguation for an ambiguous term; for instance, "Bob Dylan" is the target article for the ambiguous query "Dylan"
